Why does your restaurant or business need a website and not just social media?
All articlesMany businesses today only have a presence on Instagram or Facebook, and think that is enough. It is a mistake that may be costing you customers without you noticing.
1. You do not own your social media account
If Instagram suspends your account (something that happens more often than it seems), you lose everything: followers, posts, a way to be contacted. Your website is yours; nobody can take it away.
2. Google doesn't index Instagram content well
When someone searches Google for "Mexican restaurant near me", an Instagram profile very rarely shows up — websites almost always do. Without your own site, you are practically invisible for that kind of search.
3. A website conveys more trust
A customer deciding between two restaurants or businesses, where one has a professional website and the other only Instagram, tends to trust the one with a website more — it is perceived as more established and serious.
4. You can sell directly, without depending on the algorithm
A website with a digital menu, online orders or a contact form does not depend on how many people saw your last post. It is always available, working 24 hours a day.
5. It is the foundation for effective advertising
Google Ads campaigns need a website to send the user to — you cannot run an effective Google campaign pointing only to an Instagram profile.
It is not about choosing one or the other
The ideal is to have both working together: social media to connect and build community, and a website as your solid, permanent base on the internet.
Does your business still not have a website?
It is time to build that foundation.
